Cherry Blossoms

Big and blooming

Pink and white

Never glooming

Always bright

Look into the trees

Of soft petals crowding

They start out as small as peas

Looking down and bowing

Cherry blossoms in the spring

Looking into the world

Then falling into a wing

As if they have been hurled

Big and blooming

Pink and white

Never glooming

Always bright

They are cherry blossoms!!

Cheesetopia!

My friends and I had to make a planet for science and I was the scientist to name the planet and I named it Cheesetopia. This poem is about Cheesetopia.

On  the planet Cheestopia, everything is made of cheese. Hot! Hot! Hot! The season of hot! Will always be Fondue! Oh no! The planet has turned orange! When the planet reaches Nacho Season, the planet turns a sunny color. A snowy color in the freezing season which is Bleu Season. String season is next. Everything is sparkly clean during String Season. Cheesetopia has 100 days in each season! 400 days in all. One day is 30 Earth hours. The sky is crying drops of apple juice. And is throwing snow flakes down for the Cheestopia inhabitants to flick with their tongues. The oh so plain traditional home protects Bleumans with a hay cover and strong cheese walls. Rich! Rich! Rich! The people who are rich get to have a three level home that looks like a dome with bites taken out of it. A block of cheese is what Cheesetopia is shaped like! Yum!!!!!!

Quesadillas with Broccoli and Bell Peppers

img_13051

My dad, my sister and I had just come back from drawing classes and my mom wasn’t home because she was on a volunteer course for teaching others that don’t know English to learn English. So, I thought we could make some easy quesadillas… with a special twist…

Materials:

  • Medium – Large whole wheat tortillas
  • Shredded cheese – your favorite type
  • Brocolli
  • Bell pepper (red, yellow or green)

Directions:

  1. Boil the broccoli and bell pepper or toast them in a toaster oven without turning them brown
  2. Put a flat pan onto the stove and light the stove to medium temperature
  3. Put the tortilla on the pan
  4. Sprinkle some cheese and put the bell pepper and broccoli on the tortilla
  5. Fold the tortilla in half on the pan
  6. Flip the tortilla over once or twice
  7. Take the finished quesadilla and serve with a side of salad if wanted

New Years 2009

On New Year’s Day

Everyone gathers

Til’ they wither

To stay up

Until midnight.

To watch what

is happening in Times Square

Or even stand in Times Square

Or somewhere else.

Others snore

Zzzzzzzzzzz’s

(It is kind of late for this poem)

Long Distance Train Travel Advice

Are you planning to travel a long distance by train?

Then you have come to the right place!

I went to Chicago in the winter so I took all the things that you would need to take to a really cold place. ( thick and sturdy jacket, shoes, long socks, scarf, hat)

On the train there are usually be many beautiful places to take pictures. So, don’t forget to take a camera!

Also you might get bored on the train- (I did)- so you should bring some type of entertainment. If you are traveling with multiple people then cards are a good idea.

My family took the train Amtrak. I would reccomend Amtrak. It had really good service.

Materials

——————-

  • Appropriate clothing
  • Camera
  • Entertainment
  • Food (Optional)

The Tea-Filled Cuppies

The tea-filled cuppies are a very unusual sort,

Whose tea never ever runs short.

They drink tea for a living,

And they are always swimming.

The tea-filled cuppies

Have heads and tails like guppies

And bodies like a teacup

And they never give up

To give themselves a cup

Of tea.

The tea-filled cuppies might

Drink by the light

Of the moon.

Under the ocean,

That is.

In the ’08 election

You will come to see

Obama and McCain

Trying to win

The electoral votes and popular votes

Will decide our president!

One from Illinois

And the other from Arizona

It’s up to YOU!

Who do you think will win?

The Olympics

Countries get very tense when it comes to Olympics
Swimming, diving, and water polo
Players come out soaking wet
Long jump, gymnastics, track and feild
Stretch your muscles
Put them to the test
Archery and shooting
Accuracy is the key
Judo and wrestling
Better come well prepared!!
Because it is now time for the Beijing Olynmpics!
Let the games begin!

Did you watch the 400 meter relay? It was amazing!!!!!!
